Calendars- An Organized Life
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
-Albert Einstein
As I’ve mentioned one too many times, I have the memory of a gold fish. I have to write EVERYTHING down. Yes, even when to water my plants and take out the garbage. It’s a mess in this brain. Enter Two Jays wall calendars to SAVE THE DAY! In the last few years, I have really invested a lot of energy into marking down when our bills are due, appointments, birthdays- you name it, and it’s on the physical calendar now. That calendar is a mess of notes, organized notes- as it should be.
The most appealing thing about Two Jays calendars is the variety of options to choose from. We have something for everyone. Country love, animal love, botanical love. We are all about the love here. What about abstract artwork or motivational words? They are also available in a variety of sizes and you can even choose a frame with additional sections for extra note taking. See our post here all about framing your calendar(s).
I know that some of you are thinking your “noggin” is good and tough and you got it all sorted and writing things down just isn’t for you. You’re just too busy to find the time to do this. It’s really not that much work, I promise. Here are some tips to set you up for success:
Begin by mapping out the next 1-3 months at least on your calendar and review this again the following month. As soon as you get a bill or an email when something is due, write it on the calendar. Vacation notes, product launches, engagements. I mean…..your calendar right now is likely nothing more than overdue bills and birthdays going missed since Covid, but let’s pretend this is a normal month/year, ok?
Mark down all your birthdays in January by referencing the calendar from the year before and since you’re a super popular, awesome person, write the birthdays of all the new friends you made too😉
Be sure to revisit the calendar once a week to review anything that is coming up – otherwise, what’s the point there? You need to look to see ahead, right? If you’re someone that makes a lot of changes and adjustments, that’s okay. I often put extra notes on the calendar picture too-don’t judge me 😊
I can’t exactly explain why a physical calendar is better than a computer or cell phone calendar. It’s psychological, perhaps. It feels much more concrete and organized and everyone in the house can reference it- including the cat. He needs to know when I’m not home so that he can be mad at me when I return for not paying attention to him.
The calendar theme you choose is just part of the bigger picture. It’s a beautiful piece of art. The calendar is the real star of the show; it’s an organized life and a great reminder to enjoy the little things- my birthday is in March by the way in case you need to write that down on your spectacular 2021 Two Jays Calendar 😉.
